Our Local Missionaries
![]() AWANA
Mike and Carolyn have been serving as Awana missionaries on the California Central Coast since 2013. Previous to their mission Mike worked in the insurance industry in actuarial and risk assessment for commercial accounts for a series of carriers, most recently Sequoia Insurance. Carolyn served in the child care industry for 25 years before accepting the role of Children's Ministry Director at Community Covenant Church in Santa Barbara where she served for 13 years. Their involvement with Awana began in 1974 serving in their own church in a variety of roles. Their five grown children grew up in Awana and most of their 13 grandchildren are or have been in Awana during their formative years. The call to their missionary work brought both out of retirement to meet the needs on the Central Coast on a part-time basis. In 2020 a section of California's Central Valley were added to their territory. Email: michaelp@awana.org |

GOOD NEWS JAIL MINISTRIES - TULARE COUNTY
To reach every inmate in the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ that they might become growing disciples
The work of Good News Jail & Prison Ministry is to plant and build the church of Jesus Christ around the world. Our work takes us to places most would never consider – jails and prisons – where we are seeing God do amazing things in the hearts and lives of men, women and children behind bars.
David May – Senior Chaplain david.may@goodnewsjail.org (559) 735-1674
