Our Missionaries and Supported Ministries

. . . for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:15

We regularly receive letters from the 14 missionary families we support all over the world. Pick up copies of our current letters in the lobby.  We are blessed, as a church, to support our missionaries through donations as well as prayer.  Each week we feature specific missionaries and ministries and ask you to pray for their specific needs.
Missionary Goal

Our Missions Committee has set a goal to link each of the 14 missionaries we support around the world to someone in our church. If you become a contact person, you would exchange emails and/or letters with the missionary as often as you like. Interested?

AWANA
Jim and Leslie Pacini have answered God’s calling to serve as Child Discipleship Missionaries in Southern Central California starting in June of 2024. They began serving in Awana as young married parents of two in 1987 when their children were in the Awana club at their church.
Jim has served in many roles, including Sparks Leader, Game Director, Pals & Pioneer Leader (now T&T), Sparks Director, and for the last 12 years as the Awana Ministry Director for their church in Fresno. Leslie was introduced to Awana as an 8-year-old and completed all the books through 6th grade, earning her Timothy Award. Awana has always been dear to her heart, and she has served in many capacities, including as a Chums & Guards Leader (now T&T), Sparks Leader, Sparks Secretary, and currently in her favorite role as Cubbies Director.
Awana was the catalyst for their children to hear God’s calling and accept Him as Lord and Savior. Now, their daughter and son are active in Kingdom work, serving in short-term missions and in their local churches. Additionally, they see the generational effect of Awana now with the blessing of all six of their grandkids attending their club.
Jim is leaving his career as a chef after being in the hospitality industry since he was 15. He has worked in all aspects of the industry: fast food, dessert line, new store, catering, fine dining, teaching culinary arts, and even owning a restaurant. Leslie is a Medical Office Manager for a private practice where she started in 1987. She has been the doctor’s office manager for the cumulation of his practice.
Jim and Leslie are very excited to begin this new season building for the Kingdom as they partner with churches, pastors, and children’s ministry programs using the platforms and biblically driven materials available to create loving and safe environments where children feel like they belong—equipping leaders to teach the Gospel that allows and encourages children to understand and believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior—training them to serve Him and moving them from the church into the world to become resilient disciples of the living God.

GLEANINGS FOR THE HUNGRY
Gleanings has also pioneered a ministry to “Backpackers”, opening our lives to international travelers who seek opportunities to volunteer.
This ministry continues to fulfill its vision to feed the hungry of the world, both physically and spiritually. In 2015, with the help of thousands of volunteers, over 53 million servings of soup was produced and shipped to more than 30 different nations. It is very difficult to quantify all that God does at, and through, Gleanings, but we know that millions of lives are touched by this ministry every year as our product goes out to sustain lives and spread the Gospel of Christ, to the glory of God.

GOOD NEWS GLOBAL - TULARE COUNTY
Since 1961, Good News Global has been a beacon of hope for those behind bars. We started with a simple belief – that everyone, no matter who they are or what they’ve done, has inherent worth in the eyes of God. This belief has guided us for over six decades, leading us to correctional facilities worldwide, where we’ve had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of the Gospel.

Over the years, our understanding has grown, our expertise has developed, and our tools have evolved, but our core mission has remained the same. Today we are more than a ministry; we are a global movement of chaplains, volunteers, and partner organizations. We are a community of passionate believers, dedicated to bringing the light and life of Jesus to those within the correctional facilities of the world.

We’ve seen the ripple effects of our work, the way it transcends bars and walls and impacts entire communities. We’ve seen hardened hearts softened, lives changed, and stories rewritten. And every day, we’re inspired by the stories of redemption and transformation we hear from those we serve.

JEWS FOR JESUS

Jewish people believing in Jesus has been a thing since, well, Jesus! But in 1973, it became the name of the organization founded by Dr. Moishe Rosen. We exist to support you in exploring Jewish life with faith in Jesus.
Many Jewish people have never heard that following Jesus is a viable and thriving expression of Jewish life.
We want you to have the opportunity to experience the spiritual richness we’ve found in being Jewish and following Jesus.
